Tuesday (July 9) might have been Jack White's birthday, but it was his fans who received a gift. His band, The Raconteurs, are playing Detroit's Masonic Temple Theatre on July 12, but the rockstar decided to head back to his hometown early and celebrated turning 44 with a surprise concert at Third Man Records Cass Corridor. White's bandmate Brendon Benson joined him as the played a 45-minute-long acoustic show for roughly 375 guests. Tickets started at a mere $3.
As Billboard reports, the set list consisted of several tracks off The Raconteurs new album, Help Us Stranger, as well as a couple covers — Pink Floyd's "Fearless" and Little Richard's "Lucille" — White's "Love Interruption," and The White Stripes' "As Ugly as I Seem" and "We're Going to Be Friends." The duo also paid tribute to each other, with Benson performing the White Stripes' "Sugar Never Tasted So Good" and White playing Benson's "Metarie." Benson also led the crowd in a rendition of "Happy Birthday."

The Raconteurs will be on tour for the rest of the summer and beginning of fall. Check out a full list of dates below.
