Hayley Williams Updates Fans On 'Petals For Armor II' Release

On Tuesday (March 17), Hayley Williams took to social media to give fans an update on new music.

While her debut solo album, Petals For Armor, isn't due to be released until May 8, the Paramore singer was on track to release a second collection of music for fans.

Last month, she released Petals For Armor I. The EP included her debut solo single, “Simmer,” along with “Leave It Alone,” “Cinnamon,” “Creepin',” and “Sudden Desire.”

She had planned on dropping Petals For Armor II this week but amid the coronavirus pandemic, she decided to hold off.

“I had planned on dropping another EP's worth of songs this week but after a couple days of thinking about it, I just don't feel comfortable going through with that plan anymore,” she wrote. “My reason being that just like everyone else, I feel a lot of anxiety right now; worries about how what's happening in the world affects my friends, family, my peers in music, fans I've gotten to know because of music, and of course how it affects my own mental wellbeing.”

She continued: “The new plan is to release each song from Petals For Armor II individually — in a similar way to how I released the EP1. My hope is that in doing this, there will be something new to look forward to as the strange days roll by.”

With that post, Williams announced her new song “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris” — her collab with boygenius' Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus. The singer previously shared the lyrics to the song on International Women's Day.

While she didn't give fans an exact date, she did say it'll be out in “just a few days.”
