Fountains of Wayne are officially reuniting. The band announced sets at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 4 and the Oceans Calling festival in Ocean City, Maryland on September 26, marking their first shows since bassist Adam Schlesinger passed away in 2020. Eve 6's Max Collins is set to fill in for Schlesinger on bass.

"It’s official!!! The day we all have been waiting for. Fountains Of Wayne is officially back!! With Max Collins from Eve 6 on bass," the band wrote on Instagram. "Can’t even believe my eyes. It’s a good feeling. It’s so good."

These will be the first live shows the band has played in 12 years. See Fountains of Wayne's reunion announcement below.

Although this will be the first time fans will be able to see Fountains of Wayne live in more than a decade, the surviving members played a COVID relief benefit livestream with Sharon Van Etten on bass shortly after Schlesinger's death. The co-founder died due to complications from COVID-19. He was 52.

Aside from being the voice behind the Grammy-nominated song "Stacy's Mom," Schlesinger also wrote music for television, film, and theater. His resume includes everything from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend to That Thing You Do to the theatre production Cry-Baby: The Musical and was nominated for Oscar, Tony, Grammy and Emmy awards during his prolific career, taking home the latter two awards. In 2012, he won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album for his work on A Stephen Colbert Christmas. In 2018, he won the Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend song “Antidepressants Are So Not A Big Deal.”
