A Peek Into My Life

I figure you and I are going to be getting very close so you should know a little bit about me. My name is Vance, I am 23 going on 15, and I have a fairly respectable credit score. I am really just your average guy stumbling his way through life, I have no idea where I am going but I am having a hell of a time getting there. So, as a sort of introduction to who I am I have decided to pick a few photos that really exemplify my character and life. As you do with any journey it is a good to start at the beginning, in the spirit of that let's start with the thumbnail picture.

This fine photo was taken at the Palouse Falls mere feet away from certain death, and that smile is genuine. I LOVE to adventure and explore. I frequently go hiking, camping, rock climbing etc. and if any of those activities include a little risk well that just makes it all the more exciting. I have done lots of traveling and I am always in search of a new place to get lost (I mean it, I have a terrible sense of direction). I truly am most comfortable somewhere I have never been before, kicking back with a few of friends, having new and exciting experiences together. This point transitions well into my next photo.

These three goons are some of my best friends. We have all sorts of wild stories together, most of which I will keep to myself seeing as my family will likely read this (sorry mom). This photo was taken at the Indian Painted Rocks here is Spokane. This photo really drives home some points that I have already made, I like the outdoors, I like to adventure, and I love the Pacific Northwest. But the real reason I chose this photo is because of my friends. My friends are hands down the most important part of my life. I am an only child so my friends really become more like siblings to me and I love them accordingly. It isn't just these three gentlemen either, any of my friends, I am all of their biggest fan. The word fan is a decent transition to my next photo, I don't know that's pretty lazy writing, but hey I'm a radio DJ not an author.

I am a huge music fan! I love all music, but I have a real soft spot for live shows. This photo is of the man, the myth, the legend himself David Byrne. If you don't know who that is, he is the Talking Heads, plain and simple. This is where the bulk of my money goes and I honestly would be happy as a clam barely scrapping by if I could go see a live show every other night, unfortunately, I have "responsibilities". This love for music is why I am working in radio. I want to be surrounded by music and music lovers all of the time, ya'll are my people! If you ever see me out in public or at a show please come up and say hi I will gladly dance with you (terribly).

This brings us to the last photo. This photo encapsulates who I am really well. It was taken in an airbnb in Seattle just moments after my friends and I arrived. We were there for a music festival (shocker I know) and I found these hoop ear rings and thought to myself "you know what? Those would look fantastic on me." and they did. What I love about this photo is it shows that I love to be silly, I love to laugh, and I am not afraid to be the butt of a joke. I subscribe to the mentality that if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at? I am always looking forward to the next chapter of my life, the next adventure I will go on, the new friends I will make. While this is all true, I also make sure I take a moment, smile, and revel in the life that I am living right now.

With all of this said, I would like to personally thank you for taking this journey with me. I am extremely excited to take on this new chapter in my life and I couldn't be happier that you're coming with me. If you ever run into me be sure to say something I will happily chat with ya and add a new friend to my circle.
